Nature, old settlements and villas

Let us plunge into nature. Succumb to the charm and fascination of one of the world’s longest karstic rivers. Visit the traditional riverbank settlements and view the Venetia region’s villas.

We set out from Casale sul Sile, with a visit to the Torre dei Carraresi tower, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta (with its stunning frescos by Tiepolo), Villa Frezza-Malipiero, where Ernest Hemingway penned part of his “Across the River and into the Trees”, and Villa Bembo-Caliari, which belonged to the heirs of the famous Paolo Veronese. A quick hop by motorship, takes us to Cendon with its small settlement. Here, we may also view from afar some of the Villas that are so very much a part of Venetia as a region. After a stop at Casier, our water-borne excursion leads us past the mysterious Cimitero dei Burci cemetery.
